Invisalign Mild Crowding

A case of mild crowding for Invisalign.  Patient had metal braces previously but was not entirely compliant on wearing retainers.

Invisalign is supurb for these types of cases.  Metal braces are torture enough once without having to face the prospect of needing to endure it once more.  Invisallign allows for the ability to remove the appliance so the patient is afforded the luxury of eating whatever whenever and also the ability to efficiently brush and floss without hindrance.

Total treatment time for this Invisalign case was 5 months.  It may be a bit longer than typical for this case as well.  The patient split their time between Ohio and Florida and was unable to keep 6 week appointments as regular as usual.  Again, Invisalign allows for this flexibility over traditional metal braces.  No need to worry about pain, sores, breakage, removal, repair, etc with Invisalign.

Invisalign Rotation

Invisalign case of rotated teeth and slightly deep bite (over closed).  The after photos are not the finished state since the case is still in refinement.  A slight amount of correction is still needed on the top/bottom front teeth.  To date, this case has been ongoing for approximately one year.  We, as well as our  patients, expect perfection (or the next best thing).  Stay posted for completed photos...

Invisalign Severe Crowding

Here is a case with a more severe degree of crowding but only on the lower arch.  Total time in Invisalign was about a year.  An interesting characteristic about Invisalign is the pricing structure.  Invisalign cost is based on a flat fee for the case and does not fluctuate with severity or amount of teeth needing straightened.  This patient had to have a few aligners for the top as well, even though a majority of the movement took place on the lower teeth.  This is always true.  Any time any teeth are moved, the opposite arch always needs some degree of refinement to make the bite function properly.

Another benefit from the flat fee for Invisalign is realized when a case needs more time, correction, or further refinement.  This is most evident in patients who are not compliant with wearing aligners which only prolongs treatment. Invisalign is very flexible and forgiving!

Note:  The things jutting from the teeth in the after photos are attachments and are always placed for Invisalign correction.  These are simply glued to the front of the teeth and are easily and completely removed after Invisalign treatment.  These photos were taken during the refinement period after the intital treatment.  Notice the very slight rotation still present in one of the small teeth on the bottom which has now been corrected.

Invisalign Gap Teeth

One of our first patients to complete Invisalign was in their mid 70's.  They had lost a tooth due to natural cause and wanted the gap closed, but did not want the expense or hassle of a dental implant.  Invisalign was an excellent option to close the gap naturally and non-invasively.  Treatment took approximately 7 months to complete.

Oddly enough, their daughter (in her mid 40's) was undergoing Invisalign treatment from a different provider.  In a random occurence, they both discovered this fact about one another at the same time during the course of a conversation 3-4 months into treatment!  Even though they were parent/child and undergoing the same treatment, neither one had a clue about the other.  That is a testament to how virtually invisible Invisalign truly is!

Note: The "bumps" on some of the teeth seen in the last photo are actually what are called "attachments".  These are typical in an Invisalign case and are what provides the torque to the teeth from the aligner for rotation and movement.  These implements are more noticeable in other photos found in the Invisalign gallery.

Invisalign Moderate Crowding

A few before and after photos of an Invisalign case completed within 7 months of treatment.  Patient was not happy with smile and always wished for braces to straighten teeth but was unable to do so as a child.  Invisalign was able to correct a lifetime of crooked and uneven teeth even well within adulthood.  Nothing was performed on these teeth to get them even.  It was all achieved through Invisalign.

The first after image was taken as an example of just how clear Invisalign braces really are!  At a conversation distance, Invisalign is virtually invisible.

Complete Upper Denture and Restoration of lower teeth

This before photo demonstrates a problem that happens frequently with patients that have an older upper denture. Over the years, the denture teeth gradually become worn down as a result of chewing and teeth grinding.  Another common result of wearing dentures is the shrinking of the ridge or gums under the denture.  In this case the natural lower teeth also suffered serious wear from grinding against the upper denture. The combined result of tooth wear and the shrinking ridge was quite pronounce.  The distance between the patient's nose and chin is reduced and the face appears much older that it should.   Wrinkles appear at the corners of the mouth and the skin and cheek muscles tend to sag. Our goal was to increase the distance between his nose and chin to where it was in his youth, give him new teeth that look brighter and natural, and to make sure his new smile looks and functions exceptionally well and is comfortable.

Using our computer's EMG  ( electromyograph ) we were able to determine an ideal position for his new teeth that looked great, restored his youthful smile, and guaranteed comfort for the jaw joint (TMJ)  and the associated muscles.  We made him a new upper denture and restored this lower teeth to a desirable length and color. He now looks great and is pain free.

Brown Spot removal with MI Paste

We are excited to be able to present this dental treatment in our before and after gallery. The entire treatment took place in one month with only 3 dental visits.

This is what was performed by the dental hygienist:
GC MI Paste is the product that makes this possible First, the brown spots are pre-treated with a conditioner used routinely in dentistry; Then, the MI Paste is placed on the brown spots for 5 min and wiped off. The patient was then given instructions for MI Paste use and sent home. These visits take less than 30 minutes and were repeated 3 times.

Note: GC MI Paste Plus was given for home use. Many people ask where to buy MI Paste. As of this writing, MI Paste is not available to buy in the stores.

The brown spots in the teeth were removed without drilling or numbing. The visit was quick and painless without any hassle.

The great news is she did not have to have any fillings, crowns, or veneers placed on any teeth which resulted in a completely natural smile without any hassle of needing replacements in the future. If you would like more details on dental procedures like this, please CONTACT US

Invisalign

Invisalign case of moderate to severe crowding.  Many providers might opt to remove the tooth and then close the gap.  However, our approach is to always preserve teeth as much as possible so Invisalign was used to make space for the tooth and then straighten the teeth.  Entire treatment took 8 months!  The patient is very happy to have straight teeth but even more excited that a tooth was not lost in the process.

Patient 19: Repairing slightly worn and rotated teeth.

This patient presented with a desire to increase the length of her left fornt tooth which had become slightly shorter due to wear, and to make the left lateral incisor ( the next tooth to the left of the left front tooth) appear less rotated.

As always, when we plan to do any cosmetic dentistry, we recommended that this patient first whiten her teeth.  Once the teeth were whitened, we used a special technique to add lengthen to her front tooth.  A material was chosen by my team that matched the color and shade of her newly whitened teeth.  We were able to add the desired length to her front tooth and alter the appearance of the lateral incisor without numbing her teeth or removing any of her natural tooth structure.
